How to Play Chess Pro (Rules & Controls)

Whether you are playing against a friend sharing the screen or taking on our Smart CPU, the controls are incredibly intuitive:

1. Select a Piece: When it is your turn (White always moves first), click or tap any of your pieces.
2. View Valid Moves: The board will instantly highlight all valid spaces with a green dot. If an enemy piece can be captured, it will be highlighted with a red targeting ring.
3. Beat the Clock: Chess Pro features a strict 30-second shot clock. You must analyze the board and make your move before time runs out, or you automatically forfeit the match!
4. Pawn Promotion: If you manage to march a Pawn all the way to the opposite side of the board, it will automatically promote to a powerful Queen.

The “Hard Mode” CPU

If you select 1v1 vs CPU, be prepared for a challenge. Our AI uses a tactical scanning engine. Before it makes a move, it mathematically evaluates the board, prioritizing high-value captures (like Knights and Queens), controlling the center 4 squares, and relentlessly hunting your King.
